Sleek Magazine – Dog Days

For our editorial with SLEEK Magazine, we explored the rebellious spirit of punk, not merely as an aesthetic but as an attitude rooted in nonconformity, individuality and the deliberate choice to be different. Drawing from a subculture that shaped my own youth and perspective, we developed a visual narrative around the idea of being an outsider by choice, a foreign element within an otherwise familiar environment. Shot primarily on medium-format colour film, we placed our protagonists in everyday environments where their bold, stylized appearances create a deliberate contrast with their surroundings. These images are juxtaposed with stark black-and-white studio portraits, forming a visual index of the five characters and exploring how identity and perception shift depending on the context in which we encounter them.
