Sleek Magazine – Cate Underwood

For the cover of SLEEK Magazine’s 75th issue featuring Cate Underwood, we developed a bold, vibrant studio portrait inspired by the rebellious spirit of punk culture and its association with freedom and self-expression. Referencing Cate’s Ukrainian heritage, we chose a vivid blue backdrop, drawing from one of the colours of the Ukrainian flag. Contrasting this with warm, glossy skin tones and equally warm styling, we created a striking yet playful visual composition. Shot on analog medium-format film, the portrait balances a sleek, carefully composed aesthetic with a sense of spontaneity and authenticity.
