The visual concept regarding the aesthetic approach towards the cover shot of Cate Underwood for the 75th issue of Sleek Magazine is based on the idea of a stylized, bold, vibrant in color, in-studio portrait that draws inspiration from punk culture as a parable of freedom. Using a solid blue as a background referencing one of the two national colors of Ukraine, we aim to contrast that blue with a warm-looking, glossy skin and an equally contrasting, relatively warm styling.
Shooting on analog medium format, we wanted to keep the rather sleek studio setting as authentic as possible, adding an almost playful character.
