The visual concept regarding our narrative approach toward the films for OG Keemos's Album Mann Beisst Hund emerged from the idea of stylized, cinematic-yet-abstract short films that guide through the life of a young OG Keemo. Those stories draw visual inspirations from the movies of his youth, such as La Haine, C'est Arrivé Près De Chez Vous, or more recent series as Top Boy. The portrayed scenes are a loose run through the artist's memories, sometimes pretty detailed, while at other times confusing and dreamlike – Reality meets fiction and becomes the story.
This credo is brought to life visually as we work with rather authentic impressions contrasting those with humorous and exaggerated imagery, balancing homage and memory. Our goal was the abstraction of sad memories and rather serious circumstances into a sarcastic comment that might speak to the audience in another manner, almost forcing them to question the tonality of what they see.
