Berq‘
Rote Flaggen EP
(11.04.2023)
The visual outline for our aesthetic approach toward the photos of Berq’s EP is based on the idea of reduced, toned-back portraits shot in a stylized-yet-authentic manner while focusing on the emotional character of Berq himself. Like the films, we aimed to transport a simple feeling, nothing more, nothing less.
Despite this relatively reduced approach, our key element to those portraits was a haptic feeling, again the surface of analog film, a subtle organic grain, which made shooting on the Mamiya RZII with our favorite Kodak stock the obvious choice. Ranging from black and white to colored images, we chose a color palette that would work as a combination in regard to the beautiful album artwork created by Valentin Hansen.
