Authentic Beauty Concept‘
Suki Waterhouse
(14.02.2025)
Based on the initial idea of keeping a character-building narrative at the core of our collaboration, we aim to match the aesthetic of our film to our protagonist Suki Waterhouse. We do this to showcase her in the most authentic way possible, all within the style of the ABC world. Authenticity is not only a part of the brand’s name — it is also part of the brand’s visual identity.
Having said that, this visual aesthetic can be defined as ABC’s identity, one that serves as the link between the artist and the brand. With this visual identity at the core of our campaign, we again want to juxtapose our rather clean and classic beauty with some authentic, even raw, character driven shots. The analog film will perfectly shed light on Suki’s affinity for analog photography as an underlying theme.
In addition we aim to integrate one last layer to infuse another personal attitude of Suki. This last tool is inspired by daydreaming, a subtle spark to add to our realism. This can be implemented through a slightly stylized key-light. This beautiful and seemingly-coincidental feeling reflects life as it should be and adds a layer of the “fantastic,” just like in a daydream.
We introduce the world and perspective of Suki Waterhouse by (seemingly) spending the day with her. We listen to Suki contemplate the journey of becoming who she is, with the sarcastic and humorous tone she has, and leave the audience feeling nostalgic. This metaphorical journey is captured in a beautiful house in the Hollywood hills.
While we linger in this sphere on a narrative level, portraying a life that incorporates a balance of staying grounded and genuine in the world of Hollywood’s luxuries and millions of fans, we aim to infuse an authentic approach of a beauty campaign through the mentioned daydream-inspired layer to juxtapose the intimate and honest scenes of pure realism with a slightly stylized hint towards her on-stage persona.
